Next device in the lineup is a CBM8050 dual drive (512kb per drive). Commodore drives are assigned drive 8 as their default. As soon as you have more than one drive you either flip dips or legs of chips or scratch out a trace. 8050 are the trace variety. Picking id’s for IEEE devices should be on the higher numbers 12+ as IEC drives can only do 8-11 (or 12?).
I’ve left it on for the day and kept doing formats and checking the status channel from time to time. All it needed was a little TLC and cleanup.. onto the next candidate 🙂
